MD Commenter is an Azure DevOps extension that adds a pull request tab for commenting on rendered Markdown. This policy explains how it handles data.
Data We Collect
None. MD Commenter does not collect, store, transmit, or sell any personal data. There are no analytics, no telemetry, no tracking, no cookies, and no advertising.
How the Extension Works
- It runs entirely in your browser, inside the Azure DevOps pull request page.
- It reads Markdown files, pull request metadata, and existing comment threads through the official Azure DevOps API, using your own Azure DevOps identity and permissions.
- When you post, reply to, or resolve a comment, that action is sent directly to Azure DevOps as a normal pull request comment, under your identity.
- No data is sent to 7Rush or any third party. The extension has no backend server of its own.
Permissions
The extension requests the minimum scopes it needs:
- vso.code (Code, read) — to read repository files and pull request metadata.
- vso.threads_full (Pull Request Threads, read & write) — to read and write pull request comment threads.
It never pushes code, creates commits, or modifies repository contents.
Data Storage and Retention
MD Commenter stores no data. All content — files and comments — remains within your Azure DevOps organization and is governed by Microsoft's and your organization's own policies.
Third Parties
The extension shares data with no third parties. The only service it communicates with at runtime is the Azure DevOps API of the organization you are already using.
Changes to This Policy
